All applicants must be able to instruct in fluent English and must have at least 1.5 years of study in education and have study credits in education, such as education theories, teaching theories, classroom management, educational psychology and student teaching. Applicants must have a Bachelors degree in the subject they will be teaching. Applicants must have at least one year of teaching experience.
Starting salary in the US (Please note: Any documented years of experience in the native country will be credited up to 20 years of experience depending on a school district and its policies):
Bachelor Degree with no experience: $30,000 - $32,000, Master degree with no experience: $32,000 - $35,000, Ph.D. with no experience: $35,000 and up.
If hired by a school district in the US, you will get the following benefits: Medical Insurance, Dental Insurance and Savings Retirement Plan.
Teachers work 185 days out of the year. They are off during the summer for 2.5 months, spring for a week, and winter for two weeks. Teachers are also off during 12 national holidays observed in the US.
You will have to sign two contracts; one with the school district and another one with EPR. |

EPR works mainly with the states located in the Southwest. Applicant does not have the privilege to pick a state or school district.
There is no initial fee until a perspective candidate is hired by a school district. Once all the required documentation collected, the decision is made that the candidate is eligible to work in the US and he is offered a position by a school district, a fee agreement will be prepared. EPR requires our clients to sign and comply with the terms of our fee agreement prior to filing for an H1B petition.
The evaluation company EPR has been working with is called "Educational Perspectives." The type of evaluation you need to apply for is "detailed evaluation", also known as "course-by-course evaluation". It will be completed within 15-20 working days. To evaluate your transcripts you will need to fill out the evaluation application (email info@educational-perspectives.org to obtain the application or download it from www.educational-perspectives.org). Next, send copies of all your university transcripts in your native language and copies of them in English to the evaluation service. Enclose a check for $125.00 made out to Educational Perspectives.
Usually we set up phone interviews. However, we might request a video tape or CD/DVD disk of you teaching a class for 15-20 min.
Your child will be issued a visa automatically and can come with you as your dependent. |
