type of company is Educational & Professional Resource?
EPR is an American Company, based out of Denver,
CO, that helps foreign teachers get jobs in US
public schools from elementary to secondary levels.
- What
are the requirements?
All applicants must be able to instruct in fluent
English and must have at least 1.5 years of study
in education and have study credits in education,
such as education theories, teaching theories,
classroom management, educational psychology and
student teaching. Applicants must have a Bachelors
degree in the subject they will be teaching. Applicants
must have at least one year of teaching experience.
- What
is the salary in the US?
Starting salary in the US (Please note: Any documented
years of experience in the native country will be
credited up to 20 years of experience depending
on a school district and its policies):
- Bachelor
Degree with no experience: $30,000-$32,000
- Master
degree with no experience: $32,000-$35,000
- Ph.D.
with no experience: $35,000 and up

What is a school year like in the US public schools?
Teachers work 185 days out of the year. They are
off during the summer for 2.5 months, spring for
a week, and winter for two weeks. Teachers are
also off during 12 national holidays observed
in the US.

What are the steps to apply for a teaching position
through EPR?

- Qualified
candidates will be advised to send university
transcripts to the evaluation company in the
US.
- Once
the university transcripts are evaluated and
it shows officially that the university attended
is accredited in the US and that you have a
teaching degree, EPR will be responsible for
the following:
- We
will set up interviews for the candidates
with school districts from the US
- We
will work with the US government to secure
an H-1B visa (working visa) if hired

Is there a contract for me to sign as an applicant
and as a hired teacher?
Yes, you will have to sign two contracts; one
with the school district and another one with
EPR.

What states do you work with? Do I have the privilege
to pick a state?
EPR works mainly with the states located in the
Southwest. You do not have the privilege to pick
a state or school district.

What are the fees?
There is no initial fee until a perspective candidate
is hired by a school district. Once all the required
documentation collected, the decision is made
that the candidate is eligible to work in the
US and he is offered a position by a school district,
a fee agreement will be prepared. EPR requires
our clients to sign and comply with the terms
of our fee agreement prior to filing for an H1B
petition.

What evaluation company do I need to send my
university transcripts to?
The evaluation company EPR has been working with
is called "Educational Perspectives." The type
of evaluation you need to apply for is "detailed
evaluation," also known as "course-by-course evaluation."
It costs $125.00 and will be completed within
15-20 working days. You can download the application
form and get more information by using the following

What do I do to evaluate my university transcripts?
To evaluate your transcripts you will need to
fill out the evaluation application (email info@educational-perspectives.org
to obtain the application). Next, send copies
of all your university transcripts in your native
language and copies of them in English to the
evaluation service. Enclose a check for $125.00
made out to Educational Perspectives.

Do I need to come to the US for an interview?
No, we can set up phone interviews. However, we
might request a video tape of you teaching a class
for 15-20 min.

I have a fifteen-year-old child. Will he be eligible
for a visa to come with me?
Yes, your child will be issued a visa automatically
and can come with you as your dependent.
